Eyelash Extensions

Common questions about extensions, aftercare and what to expect from an appointment

Which method should I go for?

When  deciding what lashes would be best for you, we need to assess your lifestyle and the effect that youd like. For example, if you feel that you don't have many natural lashes yourself, then you would be wanting more volume, a hybrid or russian volume would be great. If you like the amount of natural lashes that you have but would just like more length or to enhance them, then you may find that a classic suits you best.

What is the aftercare like?

Caring for your lash extensions is easy once you have got used to them!

  • Cleanser- Gently cleanse your lashes and lids daily with a lash cleansing foam. Ensure that all soapy residue is removed, blot dry with a tissue and brush through. This keeps your natural lashes strong, healthy and bacteria free.

  • 24 hour rule- Avoid getting your lashes wet for the first 24 hours, as well as avoiding steam for this first period, or extreme heat including saunas, sunbeds etc.

  • Products- Extensions hate oil. Keep the moisturisers and oily products away from your eyes to avoid breaking down the adhesive. there's no need for mascara as this can damage your extensions.

  • "Can't touch this"- Resist temptation to touch/pull/pick at your lashes. This can damage your natural lashes as well as ruin your full set. Try your best to sleep on your back for optimum retenttion, or invest in a 3D sleep mask which does wonders!

What should I expect from my appointment?

Depending on what method you choose or how full your natural lashes are, we recommend you to be prepared to lay down for up to 2 hours. We have a very comfy lash bed, with a leg support and of course blankets, and even an electric blanket for the colder days- we will always try to make you as cosy as we can, and most clients are so comfy that they have a little sleep! This is fully normal and we are very used to it, so don't worry!

We love a good natter, or equally we respect if you'd like a silent appointment, to listen to a podcast or music in your headphones or anything that you choose to do. It is your time to relax.

If you are coming for an infill, we ask that you make sure to clean them before the appointment, so we can spend the maximum time getting them full again.

Do I need to do anything before my appointment?

There are a number of things that you could do to prepare for your appointment.

  • If you wear contact lenses then we recommend taking those out (they are fine to wear with extensions so you can pop them back in straight after).

  • Please avoid turning up with eye makeup, and keep under eye moisturiser to a minimum for seamless application.

  • We do recommend our clients to try and avoid getting their lashes wet for the first 24 hours after getting extensions, so if hair wash day falls around your appointment then maybe try and do it before rather than after!

  • Please note that we do not infill other technicians work, so a full removal and full set would need to be booked/allocated for.

What is the upkeep like?

If you choose to have extensions and keep up with them, we recommend booking infills every 2 to 3 weeks, based on your lash cycle, aftercare and lifestyle etc. We recommend booking your initial infill for 2 weeks, and then if we can stretch it to 3 after this, then we can!
